Michael Moloney

Mike Moloney is a seasoned healthcare executive and strategist with a proven track record of leading and developing businesses to high growth and exceptional operational and financial performance. Most recently, Moloney was the President – Direct Sourcing at a national healthcare group purchasing organization, where he had responsibility for the medical products and generic shortage drugs business units. In just two years under Mike’s leadership, the medical products business, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of disposable medical products, improved its customer engagement which resulted in the creation of better products and better user experiences, allowing it to expand market share significantly (greater than 3x growth in revenue over the period).
Concurrently, Moloney created pharmaceutical venture to help eradicate generic drug shortages that have plagued the US healthcare system for over a decade. The program achieved uptake of over 1,000 hospitals with 25 manufacturer partnerships, solving the drug shortage problem for over 50 shortage drugs in just 3 years. Prior to leading the medical products business, Moloney was Group Vice President – Integrated Pharmacy where he had responsibility for the Specialty Pharmacy business unit that he took from a financially challenged asset in need of a turnaround to a 25%+ annual growth company with over $500m in revenue and above market operating results.
Upon the company’s strategic rationale to exit the specialty pharmacy business, Moloney successfully led the sale of assets to CVS Health. Prior to that, Moloney held various senior leadership roles at the healthcare group purchasing company, including VP of Operations and VP of Emerging Services, after starting his career in consulting for Big 5 firms Arthur Andersen and later KPMG, focusing on healthcare and technology clients. Mike lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and 4 young children and their yellow lab. The Moloneys spend much of their free time outdoors, biking, hiking and at the baseball fields. Mike is passionate about golfing, surfing and live music, as well as supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
